The engine block is disassembled and the cleaning process begins.
The engine's condition is assessed by cleaning and inspecting the components.
Damaged parts are replaced with new or refurbished parts that meet OEM standards. This can include pistons, rings, bearings, valves, valve springs, keepers, pumps, gaskets, seals, lubricants, and more.
The internal surfaces of the cylinders and cylinder head are reconditioned so that new piston rings can form a proper seal. Crank and rods are cleaned, checked, and straightened so they can be used in the rebuild of the engine. Local machine shops are used for any components that need additional recon services, i.e., boring, honing, grinding, etc. Some parts/components may be ordered new through aftermarket suppliers, or directly from the original equipment manufacturer - OEM.
The engine is reassembled to OEM and/or part manufacturer specifications. Preferred paint color is added to shine up the outside of the engine.
